For the person who does everything
Two weeks off, without worrying the whole time.
Short-term live-in cover so a family carer can go away, have an operation, or simply stop for long enough to feel human again.

Family carers rarely ask for help until they are worn thin. By the time someone calls us about respite, they have usually been managing alone for a long time.
Respite live-in care puts a carer in the house for a few days, a fortnight, or a month. Everything stays where it is — the routine, the bed, the neighbours, the dog.
It also works the other way around: some families use a short placement as a trial, to find out whether live-in care suits before committing to anything longer.
The detail that matters
What this looks like in practice
From a few days to several weeks
Arranged around your dates. Longer notice gives us more choice of carer, but we will always try at short notice.
A proper handover
You tell us how the day runs and we write it down: the tablets, the tea, the television, the things that upset and the things that settle.
For planned surgery too
If you are the one having the operation, cover can start before you go in and continue while you recover.
A trial run
Many long-term arrangements begin as two weeks of respite that everybody found easier than expected.
You can actually switch off
Updates as often or as rarely as you want them. Some people want a daily message; others want to hear nothing unless it matters.
Emergency cover
If something has happened suddenly, call us. We will tell you straight away what is realistic.

How it works
01Talk to usAn informal conversation. No forms, no commitment.
Most people call before they are ready to decide anything. Tell us what has been happening and we will tell you honestly whether live-in care is likely to help — including when we think something else would suit better.
02Free care consultationWe come to the house and listen properly.
We spend time understanding the day as it actually is: routines, sleep, medication, mobility, the house itself, what is still managed independently, and what the family is quietly picking up. It usually takes an hour or two, and it costs nothing.
03Find the right carerMatched on personality and lifestyle, not just availability.
We look for someone who fits the household — their pace, their interests, their food, their language, their sense of humour. You meet the carer before anything is agreed, and if the fit is not right, we keep looking.
04Care beginsA gentle start, then regular reviews.
The first days are introduced carefully, often with an overlap so nothing is lost in handover. We review the plan in the first fortnight and at regular intervals after that, because needs change and the plan should change with them.

Questions families ask
What is the shortest respite placement you arrange?
Usually a minimum of a few days, as it takes time for a carer to settle in and learn the routine. Two weeks is the most common length.
Can respite care be arranged at short notice?
Sometimes. It depends entirely on carer availability. Call us and we will tell you straight away whether we can help, rather than leaving you waiting on a maybe.
