About AnnMarie’s Care

Private live-in care across South West London and Surrey, built on one idea: care should fit around the person, not the person around the care service.

A carer rests a hand on an older man's shoulder and points out of the living room window, the two of them looking out together.

The starting point

Why AnnMarie’s Care exists

Most people, asked plainly, say they would like to stay at home. Far fewer are given a realistic way to do it.

What usually happens instead is a sequence of small compromises. Fifteen-minute visits from a rota of people who never quite learn the routine. Family members driving across London at ten at night. A hospital discharge that arrives faster than anyone can arrange support. And then, often after a fall, a decision made quickly that nobody actually wanted.

AnnMarie’s Care was started on a straightforward belief: that excellent care and an ordinary life at home are not alternatives. A person can be properly supported — safely, professionally, around the clock — and still make their own tea, keep their own routine, sleep in their own bed and be the person their family recognises.

That requires the right carer rather than an available one, time taken over matching, consistency rather than a rota, and a provider who treats carers as professionals because a well-supported carer delivers better care. None of that is complicated. It is simply harder to do well, and it is the whole reason this company exists.

Our philosophy

Care should fit around the person — not the person around the care service.

In practice that means we start from the day someone already has, rather than from a template we need them to fit. If breakfast has been at half past nine for forty years, the care plan works around half past nine. If the dog gets walked before the news, the dog gets walked before the news. These sound like small things. They are the difference between being looked after and being managed.

Our values

What we hold ourselves to

Six values, written down so that families and carers can hold us to them.
  • Dignity

Care is delivered the way you would want it delivered to your own mother or father.

  • Respect

It is someone's home, not a workplace with a person in it. We behave accordingly.

  • Consistency

The same carer wherever possible. Continuity is the thing that makes care feel safe.

  • Compassion

Patience on the difficult days, and the good sense to know which days those are.

  • Independence

We help with what is hard and step back from what isn't. Doing too much takes something away.

  • Reliability

Turning up, on time, every time, is the foundation everything else is built on.

How we work safely

The checks behind the person at the door.

You are letting someone into your parent's home. These are the things we do before that happens.

Insurance certificates, training records and our safeguarding policy are available on request. If anything here is unclear, ask us — being able to check is the point of publishing it.

Read our safeguarding policy
  • Enhanced DBS checks

Every carer holds a current enhanced DBS certificate, checked by us before any placement begins.

  • References taken up

Employment history and references are verified directly, not accepted at face value.

  • Right to work confirmed

Documents are seen and recorded for every carer we place.

  • Training

Induction covers safeguarding, moving and handling, medication, infection control and dementia awareness, with refreshers scheduled.

  • Fully insured

Public liability and employer's liability cover is held and available on request.

  • Regulation

CQC registration information coming soon. We will publish our registration details here as soon as they are confirmed, and we will not describe ourselves as regulated until they are.
