Pay: Enhanced rate for dementia experience — discussed at first contact

For carers with real experience of supporting people living with dementia at home, including at the more difficult stages.

What the role involves

Holding a steady daily routine that reduces anxiety
Communication approaches suited to the person and the stage
Responding calmly to distress and to repeated questions
Meaningful occupation rather than entertainment
Working with families through a difficult period

What we ask for

Demonstrable experience supporting someone living with dementia
Dementia-specific training, or willingness to complete ours
The right to work in the UK, enhanced DBS and two references
Patience that lasts beyond the first week
